I am writing to let you know that Sandy - as we called the lovely mixed Saluki we adopted from you 4 months ago and which was called Pepa at the time - is doing extremely well. It is the first time for me to adopt a former stray so both Sandy and I had some learning to do at the beginning: she was a bit shy, scared and defensive, but with lots of love and the additional help of a trainer she has now flourished into a funny, playful and sweet companion for both me, my husband John and our two young girls.

I am an animal lover; my philosophy are that dogs are loyal and make much better friends than people. They give love and affection, guard your children and all they ask for are to loved and fed, in that exact order.

I became close to the ADFH Pet Care Centre after meeting Dr. Margret and Dr. Bibi and seeing the genuine love they had for animals.

Having lost a dog to cancer in 2010, I was distraught. My dog Destiny had been my best friend for 10 years and knew every mood of mine. It was then that I asked Dr. Margret, that in addition to the 2 dogs that I still had , I wanted a Cocker Spaniel also to replace the good friend that I had lost.

Then one day I got a call from the Pet care centre stating that there was a German Shepherd that needed a home. Notwithstanding that I had one a German shepherd already at home, I took one look at the picture of this skinny and sad animal, who had spent all his life on the Abu Dhabi roads, had marks to agony etched across his face, and, made a spontaneous decision to take him in.

He came home, and was surprised to see my 2 dogs, 4 birds and one cat. I have a double storey house, he did not know how to climb the steps. However a meal later and after being spoken to affectionately, given a few kisses et all, he was off like a shot, falling down the stairs, but wanting to take in all the atmosphere at once. He responded quickly to affection he had never known, became my shadow and turned from the cowering and scared animal who had entered my house into a Royal, who would sleep with me on my bed (along with my other 2 dogs and cat), with his spine etched against mine.

He only had one request to be fed at 5 am and 3pm, failing which he would howl, because he thought food was not going to come. He is now 21kgs more than when I got him, but he still goes strong on food.

Since he came into my household in August, Wharton, as my elder daughter named him (because coincidentally my younger daughter had gotten admission to Wharton Business School, the World’s leading school of Business, just as he came into our lives), is now a fully acclimatized family dog. He protects my daughters and growls if any member other than the family touches him. He loves the rest of my animals and is a pure delight to have.

In life no good deed goes unrewarded, Wharton got a home and I got another good friend, for the full stint of his life, which for my sake, I hope is a long one.

Thank you for helping - we were impressed how organised and kind the men were re. the round up of some of the cats in Khalidiya Park, parallel with the corniche between Abelas and the Baynuna. It is such a good thing to have them spayed and neutered, some lead a rather dreadful life - it makes me very sad. Unfortunately there are more cats in the park, we watched them round up six - and are pleased that they are released in the same area. Keep up the good work.

Hello,

I would like to tell you what a wonderful job you are doing out there in the animal shelter. My mother found an abandoned cat last week on the Sharjah Coniche and you very kindly accepeted it from me this morning.
I was able to ask the lovely girl at the reception about 2 other cute kittens that I left there in June and she was able to tell me about them and called them by their names also. I an really impressed!
I always get a little upset when I talk about them so I hope she doesn’t think that I was rude when I didn’t respond to some of her questions. If I could, I would keep all the lovely cats that I found but I can’t!
Anyway , about that white kitten I left in today – it is very calm and friendly but it bites when you try to tickle it or play with its tail. I bet the owners were not playing with it nicely and teasing it all the time so it gets fed up. Perhaps with your care it will learn to play nicely with everyone?
Thanks again for all your hard work and great care for these animals.

Subject: dog training feedback

I left my dogs at your facility during my summer vacation with the primary intent of having them gain additional training. I was very pleased with the trainer, whom everyone around seems to call "baba", as he demonstrated to me a high level of experience. I base my judgement on the number of dogs I had over the years whom I trained myself using knowledge I gained from reading many training books and interacting with various AKC judges in the US and high caliber breeders.

He was able to train my dogs new commands and initiated some hunting training of my female Weimaraner that has always shown strong hunting instincts.

I hope to be able to work with this great trainer in the future again and would like to inquire if there are hunting training excursions to the desert to which I can bring my dogs for some hands on training for myself and them.

It would be extremely beneficial for me and my dogs to attend such a class. If it helps at all, I'm currently working on the Shah Field development project in the Liwa desert, and have access to areas in the empty quarter that, with proper arrangements, I may be able to have an escort of 4x4 vehicles to guide us in to the desert.

I am sure your organization is more seasoned in such excursions, but certainly, it would be of great benefit it your trainer is able to teach me & my dogs out in the desert.

I wish to send my deepest thanks to the trainer and to your organization for the effort involved with my dogs. While I appreciate the preservation of the Saluki's, my Weimaraner are a distant relative of that great breed and hope they can benefit further from your conservation efforts.

Hello,

We had our cat Coco groomed at the Falcon Hospital a couple of days ago. We wish to report that we are very happy with Segundo's service. He groomed our cat exactly the way we wanted. There were no nicks / cuts, and the coat was even and smoothly shaved, with no jagged layers. We found Segundo very professional and friendly at the same time, and knowledgeable in his area of expertise. He kept us informed during the day on how Coco was doing, and even followed up on her after she came home, thus proving he goes the extra mile in ensuring client satisfaction. We are very impressed at the level of service provided by Segundo. He definitely is an asset to your organization, and to us pet owners!

As a pet owner, I always look for peace of mind when I entrust my pets' care to a service provider. I know that Segundo will always take very good care of my pet. We would definitely be using his expert services in the future for all our cats!
